| Course Description |
| In this course, vertical circulation systems in buildings as stairs, ramps, escalators, lifts are addressed. General functions,
definitions, terminology together with design principles are thoroughly examined. Physical analysis of stairs are made based on
forming, supporting, dimensioning, proportioning and balancing. Performance requirements are discussed with regard to basic types
such as main, service and fire stairs. Stairs and its parts including structure, treads, baluster and handrail are handled in detail
based on classification according to load transfer and construction materials. |
