| Course Description |
| The history of ore deposits; ore deposits terminology; geochemical cycle and its relationship with ore deposits,
plate tectonics and its relationship with ore deposits; the classification of ore deposits, relation of ores with host
rocks; criteria for evaluation of ore deposits; the main formation theories of ore deposits. Magmatic ore
deposits (Orthomagmatic formations, ore injections and Post-magmatic formations). Sedimentary ore deposits
(deposits formed by physical processes- Placers and deposits formed by chemical processes). Introduction of
important mineral deposits in Turkey and the world. Contribution of mining to national economies and its impact
on the environment. |
