| Course Description |
| The course focuses on the description of magma, physical and chemical conditions of the magma, crystallization
of magma, emplacement of magma, classification of the magmatic rocks, petrographic features of the different
rock suites.
Within the course, an introduction to volcanology is also presented with volcano types, explosion types, mode of
occurrence of the pyroclastic rocks, classification of the pyroclastic rocks.
The course also includes the description of metamorphism, its mode of occurence, tectonic environmets that
produced metamorphism, metamorphic conditions, kinds of the metamorphism, paragenesis, facies, petrogenetic
grid, metamorphic zone concepts, metamorphic textures, kinds of the metamorphic rocks. |
