Undergraduate Course Plan Announcement

  3. To the Attention of Double Major and Minor Students;
    Double Major and Minor students who cannot enroll in courses due to prerequisites and department restrictions must apply to the relevant Faculty Dean's Office in order to register to their courses. According to the letter to be received from the relevant unit, the registration of the relevant courses will be carried out by the Registrar’s Office staff between 21-25 February 2022

    Conditions for registration to courses with prerequisite restrictions;
    • Double Major and Minor students have to take the prerequisites of the courses in Double Major/Minor course plan, even with a different code if the courses are in the 1st major course plan and have not been successfully completed yet,
    • If the prerequisite course is in the DMP and 1st major plans, the prerequisite course must be successfully completed or the equivalence and exemption of a course taken with a different code must be provided with this prerequisite course, with the Decision of the Faculty Administrative Board, in order to enroll in the prerequisite course.
    • If the prerequisite course is included in the minor and major plan, in order for minor students to be able to enroll in the prerequisite course, the prerequisite course must be successfully completed or the equivalence and exemption of a course taken with a different code must be provided with this prerequisite course by the Decision of the Faculty Administrative Board.
  4. Course Registrations of Engineering Completion Students
    From 17 February 2022 until 18 February 2022 at 23:59, those who request course registration from the web address http://www.sis.itu.edu.tr/onkayitlar/onlineDerskayit/basvuru/ (logging into the system with ITU user accounts) the course registrations of the students will be recorded in the Student Information System between 21-22 February 2022

  5. English Courses
    a- ING 100 EAP Through Global Goals Course; It is included in the 2021-2022 Fall Semester lesson plans. Students who are subject to this plan and will take this course for the first time in the 2021-2022 Spring Semester will register for the course personally.
    The students who have scores 75 and above from ITU School of Foreign Languages proficiency exam, 91 and above from TOEFL iBT / TOEFL iBT Home Edition exam, 75 and above from PTE Academic exam and whose scores correspond to the scores of the ING 112 A course in the upper semester of the 2021-2022 Fall Semester course plan, must enroll the ING 100 course CRN code 23867. The letter grades (AA) of the relevant course will be recorded on the transcript at the end of the relevant semester.

    b-ING 112A “Fundamentals of Academic Writing” Course; The ING 112A course, which is included in the course plans after the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year, is 2 credits.
    Students who are subject to the lesson plans before the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year will also register for the ING 112A course. In order for students who have ING 112 course in their lesson plans not to have any problems while registering for ING 112 A during course registration, ING 100, which is a prerequisite for the course, will not be required.
    Since the ING100 course must be provided for the students who are subject to the course plans after the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year, the course registration of the student who has registered for the ING 112A course without succeeding the ING 100 course will be dropped because the student does not meet the enrollment requirement for the course mentioned above.

    c-ING 201A “Writing Research Paper in English” Course; The ING 201A course, which is included in the course plans after the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year, is 2 credits.
    Students who are subject to the lesson plans before the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year will also register for the ING 201A course. ING201 course is equivalent to ING201A course. Although it reduces the total credits required to be completed at graduation, the student who is in the previous plans and enrolled in this course will not prevent his/her graduation.

    d- ING 101 and ING 102; Students who take the ING 101 or ING 102 course, subject to the 2017-2018 fall semester and earlier plans, will not be able to take the ING 112A course. Those students who want to repeat their courses will repeat the ING 101 or ING 102 course opened with the same code.
    e- ING 103; Students who take ING 112 and ING 201 coded courses can take ING 103 coded courses as part of the elective courses, which are in the elective course group called “General Education” of the lesson plan they are subject to.

  7. 492/492E - 4901 / 4901E Design Project 4902/4902E Graduation Study / Diploma Project Course Registrations

    a) 4901 / 4901E Design Project course;
    According to the decision taken at the meeting of the University Senate dated 30.09.2021 and numbered 785; To be valid only for the 2021-2022 Academic Year and Fall and Spring semesters; Students enrolled in the post-fall semester plans of the 2017-2018 academic year can take 4901 Design I / 4901E Design I course in the 7th semester of their lesson plans, provided that they are in the 3rd year (at least 70 credits), 4901Design I / 4901E Design I course. It will be ensured that they are registered in the 6th and 6th semesters regardless of the prerequisites.

    b)492/492E /4902/4902E Graduation Study/Design Project/Diploma Project course registration must be done online by the student on the course registration date. In the examination to be made after the course registrations, the student who does not meet the requirement to enroll in the Graduation Study/Design Project/Diploma Project course will be dropped from the Graduation Study/Design Project/Diploma Project Design Project course registration.

    c)Students enrolled in the 2016-2017 fall and previous plans can take the 492/492E Graduation Project/Graduation Project course that is included in the registered course plan and that they have to take, provided that the equivalence is given by the program, in the new plan (2017-2018 Fall semester and after) 4902/4902E course, provided that the prerequisite of the course 4901/4901E is met.
  8. DAN 301 Course
    At the meeting of our University Senate dated 03.02.2022 and numbered 796; DAN 301 "Career Counseling" course, which is in the 6th semester of the 2017-2018 Academic Year Fall Semester course plans of the undergraduate programs of our university, DAN 102 "Entrepreneurship & Career Counseling", which is included in the 2nd semester of the 2021-2022 academic year fall semester course plans, it was decided to be considered equivalent to the course. Students who have DAN 301 course in their plan will enroll in the DAN102 course opened in the Spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year.
  9. ATA and TUR Coded Courses
    To repeat an elective course, the same course must be taken. If a different elective course is chosen, the grades of both courses are used in calculating the average. Different courses cannot be a repetition of each other, but this does not prevent graduation.
  10. 1To the Attention of International Students Who Will Take ATA and TUR Coded Courses

    25145 TUR 111 Turkish I
    25147 TUR 112 Turkish II

    The above-mentioned courses are offered for international students. International students who want to take these courses should fill out the attached form and send it to ermisa@itu.edu.tr on the course registration date. The courses requested in the submitted form will be recorded in the New Student Information System between 21-25 February 2022.
  11. "ITA", "ISP", "FRA", "ALM", "JPN", "RUS", "CIN" Coded Courses Offered by the School of Foreign Languages

    a- Foreign Language Courses, which are included in the lesson plans of undergraduate programs as non-credit, has been added to the ITB group for the students who are included in the last plan (2017-2018 Fall semester and after) as 3 credits as of the 2018-2019 academic year spring semester, in accordance with the decision of the University Senate No. 689 and dated 29 November 2018. In case of taking the mentioned courses, the letter grades to be obtained at the end of the semester will be recorded on the transcript and will affect the graduation credit and average.

    b-Students who are included in the 2017-2018 Fall semester and later plans have to complete their ITB credits if they have successfully completed the foreign language courses added to ITB before the 2018-2019 spring semester (since the courses are non-credit at that time).

    c-Students who are included in the plans before the 2017-2018 Fall semester can take these courses, but these courses will not be counted towards graduation credits.
  12. To the Attention of Students Who Will Take “SNT" Coded Courses
    Undergraduate students who have an SNT coded course in their lesson plan are required to take 1 SNT coded course throughout their education. For this reason, the SNT coded course should be chosen in accordance with the lesson plan. More than one SNT coded course should not be selected.
  13. "BEB" Coded Courses Offered by the Department of Physical Education and Sports
    BEB coded courses are non-credit and the grade will appear on the transcript as successful/failed. Undergraduate students who want to take the courses can choose these courses. For students who do not have BEB coded courses in their course plan, BEB coded courses do not have any effect on graduation and grade point average. Students should not take more than one BEB coded practice course in the same semester.
  14. To the Attention of Students Who Will Take Elective Courses
    To repeat an elective course, the same course must be taken. If a different elective course is chosen, the grades of both courses are used in calculating the GPA. Different courses cannot be a repetition of each other, but this does not prevent graduation.
  15. To the Attention of Undergraduate Students Who Want to Take Master Courses
    Undergraduate students who want to take a Master's course must fill out the attached form. The relevant form should be sent to mudemirci@itu.edu.tr e-mail address between 28 February - 01 March 2022.
  16. At the end of the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year, the student status of our students who will complete their maximum education period will be examined after February 21, 2022. At the end of the examination, the rights to be used by the students will be determined in accordance with the "Principles Regarding the Procedures for the Undergraduate Senior Students Who Have Completed the Maximum Education Period" and will not prevent the Spring semester course registrations. After the completion of the process, the procedures will be carried out according to the status of the student. (If the courses are registered, the course registrations will be dropped.)
